This post, The Other F-Word is Back for Season 2, is sponsored. Any and all opinions are my own.
Last year, I shared The Other F Word as an entertainment option for women ages 40+. This comedic show resonates well with those of us who are experiencing children leaving the nest.
Well, Season 2 of The Other F Word Series is now out and ready to entertain us more. You can stream it for free on Amazon, no Prime membership needed!
The Other F Word: A Unique Series for Women
Despite Hollywood’s obsession to portray “young faces” on television, The Other F Word Series has proven after only one hit season that there is a high demand for programming geared toward women over 40. This show is part of a growing movement of film, television and digital content targeting female friendships and women who are no longer sporting the age of 20 or 30. Other similarly targeted projects include the Netflix series Grace and Frankie, the TV Land Series Younger, and film Bad Moms, which truly took Hollywood by surprise.
The second season cast includes Judy Gold, Steve Guttenberg, Gilbert Gottfried, Michael Boatman, Alysia Reiner and Nancy Giles. Also, former Comedy Central EVP and comedian Judy Gold joins Jentis as an Executive Producer. This fantastic line up that is sure to make the second season another huge success.
“It’s so much more than one woman’s journey of self-discovery,” notes Caytha Jentis, the show creator, writer, and executive producer. “The supporting characters are women who all find themselves a bit disoriented, discovering they live in an unfamiliar world after their kids are grown, after spouses die, and after not having worked for a couple of decades.”
Any great success “takes an army,” as they say, and The Other F Word Series is no different. This series has a micro-budget. Bloggers help spread the word to increase interest in the series. While Jentis wrote the show, she had help from other moms behind the scenes and women entrepreneurs. One of the scenes was co-written by Emmy award-winning tv writer Judy Rothman Rofe who authored Neurotic Parent, while the musical within the series is written by the award-winning playwriting team Pam Weiler Grayson and Alice Jankell.
In an ongoing effort to support other women entrepreneurs throughout her own adventure, Jentis featured products from their businesses such as 10th Studio, peach, Adam & Eve Unbound Box, SheSpark, Pink Truck and many more.
Audiences can tune in to Amazon for the second season premiere now on Amazon and follow The Other F Word Series on Facebook for the latest news and updates on the show as well as on Twitter.
Why I Enjoy The Other F Word
With a recent return to working outside of the home, I am finding my downtime limited. So, I want something that truly resonates with me and does not consume hours of my time to enjoy.
The Other F Word episodes are short, so they are perfect for that short downtime or as a quick weekend binge. Each of the 6 episodes is under 20 minutes, yet they pack a real punch for viewers. I can also see this series being a great launching board for women to discuss with their friends. No more covering up or hiding our struggles ~ The Other F Word puts it all out there!
